Workspace ONE is a device management app that is required on any device used for business, including mobile phones and tablets. WS1 ensures your device is secure, and facilitates syncing your MassMutual email, contacts and calendar. It does not interact with your personal data such as texts, phone calls, and photos. For the most up-to-date information, please see the Workspace ONE (WS1) section on Compass.

Version requirements
Current minimum Android version: 14, 15, or 16, and a Security Patch level less than 4 months old
To check your Android version, see these steps: Google / Samsung
Before you begin
Before beginning, please read through the following introductory notes to ensure your Android install is successful. Please ensure your cloud backup has been run before you begin.
Important Security Notice on Android unlock passcodes: The following unlock types are not allowed per MassMutual policy: Swipe, Pattern, and 4-digit PINs.
Before enrolling, you must change these to an approved lock type: 6-digit PIN, Password, Fingerprint, or Iris Scan (see instructions here). Failure to do so before enrolling may prevent you from unlocking your device and require you to reset your device.

Android Enterprise apps
On Android devices, separate Work Profile apps will be set up that are siloed from your regular personal apps (e.g. the work Calendar app will not be able to interact with your personal Calendar app). For more information about this Work Profile, see the Android Enterprise FAQ.
